The Public Outreach Program aims to promote Palestinian contemporary culture and life through creative encounters that target primarily the younger generation of artists and performers. It is a platform to showcase young talent in music, art, literature and cinema, as well as presenting a rich program of talks and performances about the city and its history, interpolated by an assortment of culinary activities involving local chefs and non-professional members of the community. Artists, writers, historians, musicians and performers are invited to give public performances including talks, discussions, readings, shows and film screenings with the aim to bring together community members and creative individuals in a shared space for experimentation, entertainment and free expression.

Douzan Music Festival

Douzan Music Festival

September 14, 2015 8pm

In cooperation with Bilda Swedish Christian Study Center, Al Ma'mal hosted the 10th anniversary of the Douzan Music Festival featuring: Ronda, Caotico, Fourever, Richochet Rockers, and Ghazal.

The goal of Douzan is to develop interest among young musicians in learning about each other's culture and share experiences and music. The outcome in the past has been remarkable in the knowledge and learning Swedes and Palestinians have experiences, as well as gaining the shared values of openness, understanding, tolerance, and compassion.

Douzan Music Festival was conceived by a group of Swedish musicians visiting the Holy Land and Bilda adopted the idea of bringing Swedish musicians, in cooperation with local organizations, to organize an annual festival featuring Swedish and Palestinian musicians. The event took place in cooperation with Bilda/Swedish Christian Study Center and Al Ma'mal.
